League Overview:
Newington Juniors Baseball, not affiliated with Newington Little League*, is designed for baseball players that are "league age" 13-15. It is a competitive introduction to the big baseball diamond and acts as a transition between Little League and high school baseball. This is a travel league intended for players with baseball experience at the Little League Majors (or equivalent) level.
Travel to other towns will be relatively local (between league districts 7 and 5), and practices will be held locally in Newington.
The number of Newington teams formed will depend on the number of players registered. The league is intended for players with some experience playing baseball, and they are expected to have the skills necessary to play on a full-size diamond.
Teams
Teams are formed based on the number or registered players and number of volunteers interested in managing or coaching teams. If there are multiple teams, players will be drafted by managers and coaches, and tryouts may be held as needed. The number of teams will depend on the number of registered players, interest level, and the number of volunteers available to manage and coach teams.

Practices
Practices typically begin in mid-April. The schedule usually contains 3 or 4 practices and/or games per week, however, this will depend on weather conditions, field availability, and availability of coaching staff.
Regular Season
The Newington teams compete against teams from surrounding towns.
Prospective Middle and High School Players
The Middle and High School seasons typically end during the second or third week of May. This is typically the same timeframe that the Juniors Baseball Regular Season begins. Middle School players are allowed to play in other Leagues. High School Players are not allowed to play in other Leagues during their Season. If you are interested in playing on a Juniors team when the High School Season ends, please reach out to a league representative so that we can plan accordingly for these players.
*Juniors Baseball is an independent program that utilizes Newington Little Leagues website and registration technologies in order to facilitate activities for the Juniors Program. Without the volunteers at NLL, it would be very difficult to administer a Juniors program and their assistance in using their website is very much appreciated. All costs (i.e. baseballs, umpires, insurance, uniforms, etc..) are purely independent from NLL and are solely generated from the registration cost of the program.
