Love baseball/softball? Looking for an exciting way to become involved in youth sports and to earn some money? Don't have the time to commit to coaching a team. Every Majors and Minors game requires two umpires so there are plenty of opportunities to call a game. The typical time commitment for an umpire is 15 minutes prior to the game time until approximately 10 minutes after game time. (average game time is two hours.) No experience necessary. This year, there is a two day clinic on February 1st/ 2nd. The format this year appears to have been changed to only focus on Plate Mechanics. Umpires will have to bring their own equipment for drills and the minimum age is 18. See the link below for further information. Tickets go on sale 1/2/25. This clinic fills up quickly as it is open to all umpires throughout the East Region. Those who have attended from D7 in past years have found them extremely helpful. The second event being held is the Umpire Academy on April 10th - April 13th 2025. The newest clinic is a Tournament Preparation Clinic. This will be held June 5th-7th.
