NEWINGTON LITTLE LEAGUE
Player Skills Assessment
For all baseball and softball players ages 9-12 who were not on a Major Division roster in Spring 2016, a player skills assessment will be held on Sunday February 25, 2018 from 10:00 am-1:00 pm (12:00 pm - 1:00 pm will be softball) at ATI (Athlete Training Institute) located at 14 Alcap Ridge Cromwell, CT
All players will be evaluated in hitting, throwing and fielding drills by Major and Intermediate Division coaches. Regardless of the division of play a child intends on playing all players MUST take part in the skills assessment. The process allows each coach to assess the basic skills of each eligible player to aid in the player selection process. This process is designed to promote equity and competitive balance across each league. All players attending must wear sneakers and bring a baseball glove and (optional) bat. Bats and balls will be supplied by the league.
Baseball Players not selected for the Majors division will be assigned to the Intermediate division.
Baseball Players who do not attend the Skills Assessment are not eligible for the Majors draft or to be brought up to Majors during the season if a roster spot opens up.
Please read the below information carefully and thoroughly:
